<p class="Paragraph"><help:to-be-embedded Eid="recht" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><help:help-text value="visible">Use this function to start the spellcheck.</help:help-text> <help:productname>%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> is able to perform a spellcheck for a selected piece of text, the current document, for headers and footers and indexes and footnotes.</help:to-be-embedded>The spellcheck begins at the current cursor position and carries on until the end of the document or selection. A progress bar shows how far the check has progressed. At the end of the document, you are asked whether you want to continue checking at the beginning of the document.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">The Spellcheck compares the entries with the dictionary. If there are differences in spelling or a word is not in the dictionary, the word is selected and the <span class="T1">Spellcheck</span> dialog appears. You can also add words to your dictionaries.</p>

<p class="Paragraph">The word in question is displayed in original form at the top of the dialog.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">If you change the word in the <span class="T1">Word</span> text box or replace it with a word from the <span class="T1">Suggestions</span> list box and then decide you want the original word back, click the word in the <span class="T1">Original</span> row and the original word reappears. You can also use the shortcut keys <help:switch select="System" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><help:case select="MAC">Option</help:case><help:default>Alt</help:default></help:switch>+O.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Correct the spelling directly or select a word from the <span class="T1">Suggestions</span> list box.</help:help-text> A red icon with an "X" appears when the word in the text box is incorrect. A green icon with check mark appears when the word is correct.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click this button to check the spelling again. Any relevant suggestions appear in the <span class="T1">Suggestions</span> list box.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Here you specify which language is to be used to correct the spelling of this word.</help:help-text> If you change the language during checking, the word which was found to be wrong is immediately checked in the new language. The selected language is assigned to the word as a direct font attribute.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:embedded Id="67899" Eid="sprachenfeld" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>In the setup program you can install further language modules or remove them from the installation.</p>

<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">By selecting the <span class="T1">Replace</span> <text:s text:c="" xmlns:text="http://openoffice.org/2000/text"/>button, the unknown word can be replaced by directly entering a word of your choice or by a word from the list field.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click this button to replace the word in question every time it appears in the document with a word entered in the text box or selected from the <span class="T1">Suggestions</span> list. This will occur without further warning.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Select the <span class="T1">Backward</span> option to reverse the search direction towards the beginning of the document.</help:help-text></p>
